In the early days of a relationship, passions are high. This can lead us to believe that these times will last forever.

Over time though, many couples get comfortable with each other. This often leads to a love life that can get progressively tamer.

Want to learn how to keep your love life with your significant other fresh? Below, we have a few suggestions that will help you reignite the flames of passion in your relationship…

Start planning regular date nights

The quickest way to break out of a rut is to plan date nights on a regular basis. They should occur at least once per month, and they should take on different themes each time.

They can be traditional in nature, such as going out to a fancy restaurant, or enjoying the latest film out at the movie theater.

However, don’t be afraid to get creative; think mini-golf outings, cooking classes, and weekend city breaks. The more ambitious you get, the more memories you’ll create together.

Role play in the bedroom

Don’t fall into the trap of having vanilla sex all the time. There are an infinite amount of ways to express your love for each other, and many of them can be quite fun.

Give role playing a try: one of you can be the firefighter, and the other can be the defenseless person in distress.

If the firefighter is played by the man, there is men’s lingerie out there that will make this a very exciting time indeed.

Send lunch/treats to your partner’s workplace

These days, there are services that make it easy to order anything and have it delivered to any address within minutes. Why not take advantage of this to surprise your partner at work with lunch from their favorite restaurant.

It is even better if they are having a busy day, as it will allow them to enjoy an amazing meal without having to leave the office.

Actually tell him/her how you feel (communicate!)

We get so used to saying ‘I love you’ early on in our relationships, that it can be easy to stop verbalizing our affection for each other.

We assume that they already know, leading to a relationship that stagnates over time. Never undervalue the power of a quick text or phone call during the middle of the day to remind your partner just how much you love them.

If you are authentic about this, don’t be surprised if you end up having more sex than you’ve had in a long time.
